I have a problem with the first line, this part:

I put grey there because I needed to have a contrast with the white, but it looks quite tacky on green and blue. Is there some way I could make the white still visibly appear, yet make the green and blue parts look nicer?

It is. I took the liberty of swapping your {align=right} tags with a {floatright} tag. That way you get the same result without having to spend an additional line.

I have yet to figure out how to get the stuff below the spoiler to move to the right though...

Is that how you can get them to move over on the same line?

(I want it so that the spoiler and the very first line of non spoiled text are on the same line, but the non spoiled is shifted to the right)

If I'm understanding you correctly, you need some Float tags. (Hit [Quote] to see the code, but just copy, don't post.)

You had so much extra crap in your sig that it was easier to fix it than to explain it. Your main problem was too many [float] tags. You don't necessarily need a float tag for each floated line. I floated all your right-side stuff with a single pair of tags and eliminated the extra line feeds, adding an [align=right] tag to keep things balanced. It's the extra line feeds that push down the left hand text.

Just a note to those of you who love centering: you probably only need ONE set of center align tags. Adding one on each line adds an unnecessary blank line.

So if you're trying to center
a whole bunch of text, clump
it all together under a

I just made one with help from this thread. It's somewhat long with 7 lines, but as I'm not a frequent forum poster, perhaps that's not too obtrusive. Does it work, or do you think I could further economise space, without spoiling readability or resorting to spoiler tags?

For one thing, you used way more formatting than you needed. I love float tags, but you're overusing them.

If you remove the excess float tags and move the center-aligned text to the top line, you have a balanced, clean sig with exactly the same info.
