I'm not really sure why we aren't allowed to advertise regions in the International Incidents forum, and I'm somewhat confused as to why it said advertisements go in gameplay. Mind you that I am aware that "regional advertising belongs in the gameplay forum", but it just seems silly to me, at least when you are advertising a roleplaying region.
For a while now, regions have been using the whole "this thread is for an alliance, and the region is the alliance" excuse so that they can post their regional threads in II, which is fine by me. However, not all of us want to do such a thing, and we are thus put at a disadvantage in recruiting.
With that said, I really think that II Roleplaying Regions should be advertised in International Incidents, as opposed to gameplay, for the following reasons:
- The Audience in International Incidents is a better audience for a roleplaying region than the people who frequent the gameplay subforum. Wouldn't it make sense for a roleplay region to be advertised in the roleplay forums, where it's intended audience will actually see said thread?
- Look at how advertisements in gameplay compare to advertisements in International Incidents ( note that Judea does the whole 'alliance' deal ).
- Not all regions want to do the "alliance is the region" deal, and those who do not do it are at a disadvantage.
With all of that said, I simply ask, why can we not advertise roleplaying regions in international incidents?
For the record, I don't mean advertisements along these lines:
I mean "threads" that provide more information about said region, and serve as "the region's thread".
Examples of "Region Threads" in II: Gholgoth, Judea
Examples of "Region Threads" in Gameplay: Pohlmania, Jiangsu, Asavona, Guanxi
