Thread Locked Due to Mod Bias

It is no secret that Melkor Unchained is a conservative. Therefore, I must object to the closing of a thread that was made purely in jest, viewtopic.php?f=20&t=11401#p394221 I think it was MU's own bias that caused him to abuse his power in this way.

I'd say it would have to do with the number of people who believe that he's real and take him seriously, of which you're well aware. You knew that it could have (and likely would have) garnered vitriolic replies, and that was the intent. Therefore, it's trolling.

For trolling, we like to use the "reasonable poster" test. MU made his decision based on what he was seeing and the decision, even if you don't agree, was suited to the situation at the time.

The OP had no substance and was clearly not intended to spark anything resembling a serious debate. The line "mohamed and i are no and have been for over 1000 years homosexual lovers in heaven. now after closely watching the social trends on earth we have decided the time has come for us to marry" was what put it over the top. I tend to think the moderators are more against 'criminally stupid' than anything. But that's just my take on it after watching things pan out over the past six years here.

I know what I said. If I locked threads for no other reason than being friendly to homosexuality, I wouldn't get anything else done and would lose my job in a matter of hours. Let's look at the facts.

FACT: Christians and Muslims alike are likely to be offended at the insinuation that their respective messiahs have been "homosexual lovers" for the last millennia.

My attitude concerning gays has nothing to do with my decision to lock this. If I were anti-gay, I should think that I would enjoy watching lesbians far less than I actually do. Not everyone agrees that they're "fictional characters," and regardless, they're figures of worship whether you like it or not. We do not ask that you agree, but at least try to respect these (and other) beliefs.
