If you are banned and you go to the forums you get a message saying you are banned until ____ and can't view threads while logged in. Switching nations to post indicates effort to evade on the part of the poster.

This came up once before and I mentioned something about it in Mod/Admin but got no response. I think when we add warnings to a user's profile it's supposed to send them a message (at least, that would make sense) but at present it seems like this isn't happening. I'd look into it myself, but lack ADMIN POWAHS.

Question. Do you chaps send a TG when a warning is given as I now seem to have a warning in my CP that wasn't there before but I haven't been told about one.

That's part of the problem: only GMs can send out the "Voice of Mod" telegrams; Forum Mods can hand out warnings but won't be able to send you the telegram. I'm hoping we can find some way to allow forum warnings to send a Private Message or something to the user in question. I'm not really sure why we have them turned off, but I would hope there's some way to enable them to and from Moderators or Admins.

When your banned if you try to go into the forums a message will come up saying Internal Something Failure and than the next line down it will say you are banned till X Time on X Day


It will also provide a link to what you were banned for.

I am making a request that when Someone is banned for a certain amount of time, a Mod TG them about it because I saw some people not know they were banned and they ended up getting deleted.

Like the other mods, I agree with the need for automatic notification of bans. But I have to say: don't waste your sympathy on Kopania and his puppet. This was the second time he'd posted around a ban. He was given a chance to change his ways, and he blew it. He would have recognised the system's ban response from his earlier experience. That alone should have told him to stop.

But what if you'd already switched nations anyway, for more innocent reasons, and consequently hadn't seen the message that was sent to the first of them?

(No, this situation hasn't ever applied to me, but considering how many nations I have if one of them ever were to receive a forumban then it conceivably could do so...)
