I am not saying that their aren't others involved, to me he just seemed like the most noticeable of the trouble makers.

I'm more inclined to look at this as a dogpile more than anything else, just based on what I've seen. I used to post in NSG and this same kind of shit used to happen to me on a daily basis. I'll have to go back and see how it started to see for sure; he did start some shit that didn't need to be started in another thread; he may have done it here too, I dunno.

I'm on page two and I've just about seen enough to lock this thread already. Posts like these ("The Europeans look see these people as the morons they are and frown upon America because these idiots are almost half the country,") are at least as inflammatory as what Hiddenrun is saying, but I don't hear anyone complaining about them.

I've been noticing more and more of this lately. NSG's liberal bias is so well-known and so monolithic that they don't even notice anymore when they're being every bit as intolerant of dissent as the Evil Republicans They Hate So So So Much; and people like Hiddenrun or New Mitanni who might come along and spoil the fun are invariably accused of trolling/flamebaiting, if only because everyone knows NSG is liberal so you should "know better" than to post conservative rhetoric.

I'll probably lock that thread soon enough, but I'm not inclined to hand out a warning to Hiddenrun alone unless pretty much everyone else who posted there wants one too. I'm sort of floating back and forth between this and working on my kitchen floor, so I haven't had the time to read more than a few pages so far.

That line was a counter-argument which I later explained in more detail. Also, you misquoted me.

That 9/11 is still upsetting to Americans isn't my problem, I had my own reasons to be very concerned when it first happened but that's 8 years ago now, perhaps a thicker skin?

Melk NS has, or at least some have always claimed that NS has, a liberal bias. This is not about that and you should know it. Hiddenrun may hold unconventional views but there are plenty of people in NS have views that others do not or cannot or will not agree with and yet MOST of the time these people don't get dragged into moderation. So take a second and ask yourself why Hiddenrun has been dragged into moderation twice now despite the fact that he has something like 30 posts to his name. Trust me, its not the nixon avatar or his political viewpoint. Its the fact that he continuously (if subtly) attacks those with whom he doesn't agree. He's a good writer,and he is fairly smart about doing it but he does do it anyway. Now clearly I'm not a mod so my opinion in this matter means essentially nothing but do not try to explain away hiddenrun by claiming that "its all just cause he's conservative" that opinnion is not only . . .well to be frank. . .. silly its also insulting to the vast majority of people on NSG who are more than willing to have a well reasoned debate with ANYONE as long as they don't get attacked personnaly in the process.

That thread had loads of potentially offensive/offtopic crap in it, and didn't get reported here until Hiddenrun started pissing people off. I'm not saying he won't get a warning, but there is a wealth of actionable material in that thread, and it'll probably take us a day or two to sort it all out.

I'm not claiming it is a coincidence. I'm claiming you've got the causation wrong. You are claiming that Hiddenrun is being picked on for being a conservative. My response is that there are plenty of conservatives who do not get dragged into moderation. My counter claim is that Hiddenrun is a very very smart troll and you haven't picked up on it yet partially because he's using his (assumed or real) conservative outlook to mask his trolling. Your counter claim is that thats bullshit. I could be wrong . .happens all the time. . . but a more detailed explination of WHY you think im wrong would be appreciated.
