I also like the new trophies. *proudly shows off my GA resolution author x2 trophy*

Also, I just found out what an "Easter Egg" is.

Might I suggest editing in images of whatever badges/trophies can be found into the OP?

Here are the ones I can offer, thus far:

  2. Would it be possible for 'most prolific' badges? E.g. 'Most Prolific Issues Author,' 'Most Prolific [GA/SC] Resolution Author' etc.? I'm sure some GA regulars would view this as d***-waving, but it goes along with the idea of trophies.

All authored resolutions are included. I am credited with 2 SC resolutions, even though my second resolution repealed the first.

I can't respond to the rest, though, of course.

EDIT: Suggestion of my own to add: Will the ranking-related badges be applied to regions as a whole? i.e. [regionj]Flibble Mk II[/region] currently ranks first in the world for Smartest Citizens. I think it would be great to give the region the same sort of International Ranking Level badge that is going on individual nation pages.

Also, will the badges be cumulative? i.e. If a nation is #1 for, say, Smartest Citizens in the world now, but loses the title down the road, will they retain the badge? I'm guessing not, but having a "Historical" section for badges of that sort could be great, if only to show what accomplishments a nation has had in the past. (And if someone wants to play with the issues to try to achieve top X% in all of the categories, it gives them more badge thing-ys to work towards. :))

All in all, great job! They look fabulous!

I was co-author of 2 SC resolutions (30 and 44), would it be possible to get a badge for that?

'Most Prolific [GA/SC] Resolution Author', <--- hhm, I don't think we can necessarily say that just because you passed a lot of resolutions, you're the most prolific author. If I'm not there (I think I'm tied with Jey if we just count the submissions with Unibotian WA Mission), I'll be soon ( ), and I certainly don't want to be labelled with the 'Most Prolific' title because of quantity. I think that's what we have commendations for, I'd rather give Sionis, Berg or heh, Quod, a commendation for passing legislation that really matters and would affect how people live.

But I would like to be able to pass on trophies from missions to main accounts, or at-least from missions to other missions.. and co-authorship trophies.

Would it be hard to add a 'former delegate' badge that shows the nation was a delegate of his region at one point?

That seems like a natural extension, and something we'll definitely consider once we've had time to assess nation trophies.

Also, will the badges be cumulative? i.e. If a nation is #1 for, say, Smartest Citizens in the world now, but loses the title down the road, will they retain the badge?

No. Their National Happenings will say they lost it, but that's it.

I don't think so; there are two types of trophies: World Census ones, where you get ranked, and specials, where you've just done something. Your suggestion is kind of in between, which would make it tricky.

Topid wrote:Would it be hard to add a 'former delegate' badge that shows the nation was a delegate of his region at one point?

Maybe. I probably shouldn't look at new trophies until we've had time to assess how everything's going with the current lot.

I really like it!

One question though: Could the same system, atleast for the Census rankings, be applied to the region too?

I just want to congratulate whoever was behind this - it's a really good feature for NS, methinks.
Author of Issues:
#273: Is our children learning?
#310: Too Little Talk?
#315: Creative Flowers Withering Under Legislation
#324 "Tourism Tanking" Tells Tabloids
#334: Blot Out Bauhaus
#340: Defending Patent Pending
#365: A Busload of Worry

None at present

If I offer criticism on your proposed issue, I will often write in red: don't think I'm being aggressive, it's just a convention I use!
If I ask a question on a proposed issue thread, then it's because I feel it's one you need to ask of your issue: I'm being Socratic and/or lazy.

This is a great feature! But I'd like to see trophies for outstandingly bad performance as well. Surely being Least Godforsaken or Least Stupidest is worthy of recognition. Also, the prevalence of rankings that are closely linked to one's economy gives capitalist nations a strong advantage in collecting all the glitter. Trophies for bad performance would give some recognition to hard-working socialist and communist nations, of which there are many. Trophies for poor performance could be negatives of the corresponding positive awards.

Not a bad idea in my opinion. I actually quite like the badges. Well done, NationStates developers.

How about a badge for nation age? Like a bronze badge for a month, silver for half a year, gold for a year etc.

Actually, this is a better idea than mine, it's not just based on population but activity. A bigger incentive to remain active.
