Nations founded in antiquity read this!

Postby Louis Van Boxel Woolf » Sun Jul 26, 2009 8:39 am

I have been trying to establish this for a long time...
Who was the first ever nationstates user? Is he/she still around, this is going to take a long time to find out (if we ever do) but what the heck! Also does Max Barry have an(y) account(s)?

Yes, Max Barry does have an account. Given that, I believe you can infer the answer to your other question as well. ;)

Praetor is (or used to be) the largest nation, though I believe they had the population bug.

I can remember (but can't find a link to) a discussion saying that (excepting Maxtopia) the extant nation with the earliest number was No. 8 (as in, they were the eighth nation to sign up to NS); I don't know what that nation was or whether they still exist, though. So all in, not that helpful!

Hhhm... Yes Praetor is currently the largest nation, and Sal stated previous that they did benefit population bug, I believe. (I think I'll go find where I read that...)

On the subject, I remember having an intresting chat with an old timer, Flordia, on Jolt here.

Florida wrote:I've defined the generations by the version that they were founded ( http://www.nationstates.net/HISTORY ). I soon stopped counting and doing any analysis after the first 7,600. Of those first three generations, 27 have continued to log in often enough to avoid passing (though many have been refounded). I had a couple of nations lost in the time that inactive nations were purged after 14 days of no-login.

So, a couple of dozen players have continued to log into a game with no goals. Since 2002.

As a Jan (4) 2003 nation myself, I don't recall a major flood of nations in March '03. And let's face it, NS would be so much worse without Delphina gracing us with her presence :)

Antiquity ftw. I don't recall when I founded my nation, but my population puts me in the first group, maybe early second, pretty easily.
