There are many ways to play this game, you can just do the daily issues (nation building), you can roleplay (there are several different types), you can do things in the World Assembly, you can defend/attack regions or a combination of these.
If you knew what you wanted to do, I could recommend what to do in more detail, but its pretty much all up to you.
