Influence Meter

I am really upset with the Influence words. It doesn't tell you how much it is or what is higher than what. I think there should be a bar or a meter in which the Influence is displayed.

Could this be done?

Being able to see a list of the orders of influence is useful, but surely it'd be better to have some kind of graphical representation which can be understood instantly? I think it was suggested before, particularly in regards to regional controls so that when using them you can see more precisely what level of your influence it'll use up.

Some kind of colour gradation on the text? Minnow would be dark green and Hegemony would be bright red?

Evens thats pretty hard for new members to understand. What about a few little green squares going under the word. The more squares the more influence it represents.

Someone suggested this before, and I added it to the list.
Violet didn't reply back.

The idea was a influence counter which would visual how much influence you'd spend if you banished or ejected someone.

However no-one suggest a visualization of how powerful one is compared to others - like something Sirocco and the OP suggested. I'll add that to the list under regional influence.

I believe there is a "Most Influential Nation in $region" census report ranking . That might have regional influence used as a stat.

As for a counter, how about a small triangle with is filled up from the bottom to the top with happy, green influence.
The most influential nation would be the king/queen of the hill (or triangle) ! ▲

I like all these ideas, but I do like the graphical representation of influence the best. Though, this might shed a bit of light on how influence gets going.

Maybe the changed text font could be incorporated into the game and data regarding the influence could be passed on in the RSS feed. This way, people (or the economic calculators) could use the RSS feed to create graphical interpretations of individuals influence, and if necessary, say, the 15 most influential nations in a region. It would be able to track these over time in much the same way an economic calculator is able to graph the change of the economy over time.

http://nstracker.org/

The above website allows you to add a "tracker" to a nation, and will create graphical interpretations of how the economy has changed over time, as well as how individual budget spending categories have changed. If Influence was equated with a numerical value that was stored in the RSS feed, someone could create a "tracker" that would graph how high or low your influence gets - as well as how high or low your rival's influence gets.

This way, the people who want graphical representations are appeased, and those who would rather not see a graph taking up their nation page wouldn't have to.

Such a thing, Valipac, was not possible.

That was until I politely asked Violet about two weeks ago to include <INFLUENCE> in the Xml feeds for nations.
Our generous admin, blessed us with it right away, after I asked.

My prayers (minus regional issues and winning the lottery... hehehe) have been answered !

But, on a more serious note. Maybe someone should contact Texas about including Influence stats in NStracker.

I still wait patiently on my mass-TG resolution, lol. It gives me hope to see things like that going through, though.

I think the mystery surrounding influence is better without a meter. The names are already ranked for you in the threads about influence, that's enough of a meter.
