A new idea

How about we create WA political parties? I mean, in RL the EU has them, and they are working fine. So I think we can make political parties, each with a set of ideals that they implement in every resolution.

Or is it a proposal thing?

You can try to have political parties on the forums, but I sincerely doubt that such things would get coded into the game.

I tried to set up a similar scheme, with the political parties competing to have their leader elected as the WA Lord or whatever. But the thread got shut down, apparently that's something that the mods (at least previously) wanted to have on offsite forums.

If you want, I can give you the thread that I started, it's never been released on these forums, since its short life on the Jolt Forums. Its a fairly well done (If I do say so myself) representation of a sign-up form for political parties.

At the moment (it's the last day of voting, so the results are somewhat representative), there are 4706 recorded votes on the current WA resolution. To have a noticeable impact on WA activity, you'd probably have to get at least five hundred votes' worth of nations supporting your party. This seems high, but if a few large regions were on board, it could be achieved. (Sydia, delegate of the North Pacific, has 185 votes -- a number I believe to be the current highest.)

I've always felt that an interregional pact or two for bloc voting on WA resolutions would make for a fascinating element in combining normal regional politics with World Assembly resolution votes. The hard part would be getting regions to surrender their individual voting rights to vote in accordance with the majority of the pact.
