Lack of delete function

Postby Leistung » Wed Jul 15, 2009 9:08 am

Why is it that the option to delete my post is only there once in a while? It's really very annoying.

It has to do with if a posted has been replied to I believe. We could poke Reppy to look around in the admin panel to see if there's a way to turn it off though.

I'm pretty sure only the last post in a thread can be deleted -- I've deleted my posts before, but lose the ability to once there is another post after it. So, it would count any and all posts after yours to count as a reply to yours, rather than the thread as a whole.

And it does kind of suck to not be able to delete our posts otherwise, so if anything can be done about that, that'd be awesome. Thanks in advance for whatever you guys decide to do.

In the permissions section, registered users can delete their own posts... but I'm not finding anything to set it so you can delete your post after someone else has replied to it, sorry =/

That sucks. Oh well, I guess we'll live with it if you guys don't have any other options. Thanks anyway. :)

Really? Mine are still there when someone replies, and even when they quote...

I thought it was a time limit or something...

Of course, even so, one could always edit the posts concerned to delete their actual contents...

See it's hard to know, because I *always* have the edit function on everyone's posts. But the message people say they get seems to be that someone has replied to the post.
