Wording issue.

The City State of Parthenon is a colossal, economically powerful nation, ruled by Lady Amanda Valtreck with an even hand, and notable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 5.561 billion are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

Something should be done about the wording of one of theseclauses so that the usage of the word "ruled" isn't as repetitive and conflicting. Perhaps modification of the nation leader clause to read something along the lines of "The head of state is ..."

I don't like the word "ruled" at all. Even "governed" is probably too strong a word for what my Prime Minister does. He/she leads the government, not the nation.

And the 'Chairbear of the High Council' doesn't necessarily have any power, beyond being 'Speaker' of the legislature and ceremonial 'head of state'...
