Legality question on WA creation

Postby Invincible Bombay » Fri Jul 16, 2010 3:12 am

If someone makes several nations, all with different email addresses, then applies to the WA with the lot, and hands out the acceptance links to his friends, is this illegal?

Secondly, if all those different email addresses redirected to one email address, would it become illegal if it was not already?

WA Multing is always illegal.

Um, after the WA acceptance link is clicked, the original owner never goes to the nation again. Nobody would have more than one WA at once at any time- I'm just trying to see if this is legal or not.

Why can't these "friends" create their own nations and join the WA with them?

The general rule here is "if you have to ask, you shouldn't do it". Incidentally, this would probably have been better placed in Moderation.

Indeed, from the sounds of this, it sounds like there's a good chance of generating false positives on our cheat scan, which doesn't just use email address/IP address. It also seems like an awful lot of work and risk when everyone else can create their own nations and get them into the WA on their own.

Given who the OP is (Klaus Devestatorie, a fairly well-known raider), this sounds like a method for making raiding easier, by delegating the nation creation/WA application stage to one individual - or even a way of WA multi-ing. I'm of the opinion that people should only be able to use WA applications which they have submitted themselves, though obviously I'm not a mod.
