nday tsv + related questions/suggestions

Postby Sweeze » Mon Sep 28, 2026 12:12 pm

hi mr. Chingis or haku or whoever else has the ability to, can we get a tsv again for this nday?

also follow up question on the nstats API it would be really cool to also have a "DONATED" field or something similar to see how many shields a given nation donated to the shield bank!!

follow up suggestion: nday becomes really, really obnoxious to play during the two updates because of performance problems. it would be cool if turning off the major and minor update that run during the event could be considered to improve player experience

Seconding all of the above but I would also love some kind of indication (on page=nukes and/or in the nstats shard) of how many nations a cleanup specialist has revived and also when and how many times a nation has been revived.

Bumping this.

It’s been really awesome having the extended data from the TSV in events past, and would be an absolute shame to be able to have those expanded analytics this time around.

Bumping the above, but also another thing to note is that leaving a faction with a dead nation can be forced through the anti-dead nation check by using the url appendix page=faction/fid=[FACTION_ID]?consider_leave_faction=1&leave_faction=1 which I am not sure is an intended feature.

Roavin wrote:For the statisticians among us, we now have a data dump of N-Day7 for you to download and peruse (and avoid scraping 1000s of pages from our poor servers).

You can find it here. It's a gzipped file in TSV-format, i.e. one row per line with columns separated by tab ('\t') characters and an initial header line with the column names. The file contains a list of all targets, launches, strikes, and intercepts that happened this past N-Day. These are the fields:
  • timestamp: UNIX timestamp of when it happened
  • event: See below
  • n: How many nukes/shields were used
  • nationX_id: The database ID of the nation (i.e. the DBID-Field of the nation)
  • nationX_name: The canonicalized name (i.e. lowercase and with underscores instead of spaces) of the nation in question
  • factionX_id: The faction ID (the same as in the URL)
  • factionX_name: The full name of the faction. This is not canonicalized; this is the exact name shown on the website

There are 4 kinds of events in the dump file:
  • "targets": nation1 targeted n nukes at nation2
  • "launches": nation1 launched n nukes at nation2
  • "strikes": n nukes from nation1 struck nation2
  • "shields" (aka interceptions): nation1 shielded n nukes from nation3 targeted at nation2

Enjoy!

Newest one found here, enjoy!

Edit: Reminder that nowadays there is also a "shieldbank" event.

this is true (and still useful for some statistics!) but as far as i can tell the shieldbank event only shows when shield bank is used and which nation it protected; i was hoping for a way to see when shields are donated to the shield bank as well. unless i'm missing something about the shieldbank events, there's no good way to see how much a given person helped carry the shield bank
