Post count ranks

Still a definite work in progress, but I've got it more or less complete to the highest rank achieved to date:

0-1 Civilian
2-5 Political Columnist
6-10 Civil Servant
11-25 Lobbyist
26-40 Secretary
41-65 Bureaucrat
66-99 Attaché
100-200 Spokesperson (cutoff approximate)
201-350 Envoy
351-500 - Chargé d'Affaires
501-1000 - Diplomat
1001-2000 Ambassador
2001-3500 Minister
3501-? Senator

The cutoffs for the two or three highest ranks are educated guesses. Of course, if someone important wanted to post an official version and save us the trouble, that'd be fine too. :P

Very interesting. I'd assume some sort of custom title will come into play with a certain amount of posts?

I like the sound of Attache!

Think I'll stop posting at 99 posts.

Just kidding, this is helpful, and I bet many people will soon be able to edit their member titles.

At the moment, there's nothing planned for enabling users to set their own rank titles, however since I can edit the ranks, I'm very seriously considering reviving the old weekly "one of a kind" rank title raffles we did on the pre-Jolt forums. 8-)

Ooooh. Interesting. Disappointing that we won't get custom titles though.

I think custom after something like 5,000 or 10,000 is a pretty good idea.. Something to strive to!

Exactly why we don't intend to do it. We get enough spam as is without rewarding it.

He's at 175 with no change from Spokesperson

Don't worry, some of us will get there soon enough without needing a reward

Is the ranking random, or is there perhaps a kind of mathematical row, or geometric progression, or Fibonacci sequense behind it? :geek:

Yootopia just passed 200, he's an "Envoy" now.

Instead of custom titles after a certain post count, how about making them based off age/population like the custom nation titles?

As [violet] would probably say, that's a non-trivial amount of work to do, I suspect.

CG, you do realise that by posting that link, you have introduced our newcomers to the evil practices of quote pyramids, multicoloured text and VERY VERY LARGE TYPE?

Thankfully, this board won't take quote pyramids, but the rest ... Well, if there's an outbreak, I blame you. Entirely.

No, no, I'm not angry, I'm just very, very disappointed ...

<_<

>_>

... (hey, that always works on my kids.)

BTW, dragging myself back on topic: I'm waiting, as postcounts mount higher, to see if the admins took up my suggestion, "blogger". Live in fear.

Oooh, the old old forums...where the only times you had a decent chance of visiting without it crashing was when the americans were sleeping...

Maybe add one that says "forum addict"

Check Crazy Girl's link, if you can stand the nostalgia, and go right back to the first post, where Reppy explains it.
