Will my nation collapse?

The subject pretty much explains my question. Can my nation just collapse and no longer exist in this game, or will it just forever change politically while keeping the same name or something?

It can only stop existing if you are inactive for 28 days.

I've seen people be inactive for >40 days without CTE so I'm pretty sure it's closer to 60 days.

"Nation Name Reservation: In NationStates, when a nation isn't active (logged in) for 28 days, it ceases to exist, but the owner can still come back and restore it just by entering the password. After a long period of inactivity, though, the nation's name may be made available for re-use, so someone else can create a new nation using the same name. In that case, the older nation is permanently retired as "Ancient" and can no longer be restored.

Current site rules allow nation name re-use after five years of inactivity in nations with a population under 1 billion. Site Supporter nations are permanently reserved and their names can never be re-used."

You are the Leader. If you remain active and answer issues, the nation with evolve politically in response to your choices. Be aware of the "Rule of Unintended Consequences", as your choices won't always do what you think they should.

Also, you could tick off the moderators. That's a pretty effective way to see your nation no longer existing.

Then why do so many nations exist without answering any issues for 60+ days?

It's not answering issues - it's logging in.
