NationStates down recently

I recently went to nationstates.net and got a 'server error' box replacing the normal 'NationStates is a nation simulation game' text on the webpage. When I reloaded the page it was just '500 Internal Server Error: nginx', and the same for the forums.

Can anyone explain why this was?

P.S. Many other websites were offline at this time too, like 'maxbarry.com' and Cloudflare. Is it because of Cloudflare or some other service being down?

Cloudflare was having connection issues from what i hear. discord was also down

Yeah, it was down for me as well, along with several other websites including Politics and War. A website that I know uses CloudFlare (Minecraft ForgeLabs) was accessible though…
