Strange AV messages on the forums

I've been gone from the forums for some time, but I recall there being issues with the ad service in the past, and I'm getting messages like this from my AV.



I don't know if it's just my AV being overprotective or something worth looking at, but I thought I should tell someone.

For clarification, this has only happened on the NS forums so far.

Your antivirus software does not say that thomasgenweb.com will give your computer a virus. It only says that there is "a connection relying on an unmatched security certificate to" that website.

This is because thomasgenweb.com does not have a valid HTTPS certificate for itself, only for secure.hostingprod.com and its subdomains. Here's the message I get when I try and access it on Firefox, for example.

Given that this post from 2014 is the only other post, anywhere on the NS forums, that makes any reference whatsoever to thomasgenweb.com, I see very little reason to be concerned about its security certificate (from a non-techie, NS end-user's perspective).
