All good ideas.

I think a counter to Homelessness should be implemented if it is indeed put in.

All four of those ideas seem to work

My attention's been brought here, so might as well throw it in; I've made a thread proposing an architecture stat.

viewtopic.php?f=13&t=518451

Imperial States of Duotona wrote:Perhaps we could have a "hostility" stat, which shows how aggressive a nation is when it comes to diplomacy.

Sure, someone may have a large army, but it really depends if they're willing to use it.

We have a pacifism stat, which could measure the opposite.

I like this and have advocated for it in the past.

The Orwell Society wrote:I have a few:
  • Industry: Entertainment (i.e music, movies, toys, etc)
  • Architecture (quality and creativity of the nation's architecture)
  • Political Popularity (how popular your nation's ideology is to the people, whether or not they like how the government is being run)
  • Laziness (a result of low productivity and high charmlessness)

These are not all my ideas, but I think they should be implimented.

My understanding is that book publishing is the stand-in for entertainment.

Architecture I proposed in depth, so yes.

Popularity is a redline no go. It will always be denied by default.

I like that one. Laziness could be a fun one.

Kiddian States wrote:I’ve got another one!

Progressiveness

How is it functionally different from Civil Rights? As others have mentioned, Social Conservatism exists as a stat so that people with very low civil rights have something that goes up as consolation.

Also, how is it different from inclusiveness?

Kiddian States wrote:Governmental Effectiveness
Measures how effective a government is at rolling out social policy

As an inverse of corruption, I could see it put in.

But generally I worry about whether that can be put in. Issues always assume the government is capable of carrying out whatever the leader's will is. If it gets sufficiently low, wouldn't it start to mess with everything else as the government is too disorganised and corrupt to get policy through?

We have stats for lifespan, health, food quality, pizza delivery industry and, most crucially, an obesity stat. Not sure what new niche this would fit, though happy to hear it.

Immigration and Emigration would likely be considered too close to being a popularity stat. Not opposed to it, mind, but would need some real thinking to get done.

A good idea.

Isolationism presumes the leader's temperament on the world stage. That said, autarky and pacifism are both tracked things, so isolationism could work. Might be measured in ''summits missed''.

Approval rating please? Many issues would benefit from this, also this is a real stat which would allow the game to be better

That is the ultimate red line. All of the leader's choices are automatically assumed to be popular enough to be carried out. It will never be added.

I am not talking about approval ratings of the leader’s choices I am talking about the approval rating of the government in general

But if the population growth stat is 0.5, then they will lose population.

Also, to achieve the capital, leader, and the religion, NS needs to base it on an entirely different thing, in that case.

I don't think that will ever be implemented. The current population system is fine.

But things like banning contraception not changing the rate of population change, and also how fast it is, is pretty unsatisfactory to me. Almost no-one uses population in roleplay, more people would probably if population growth was implemented. Besides I don't think it will be implemented either, this is unofficial stats.

I mean population is fine. It's not meant to be one of those stats you compete for. It's a measure of one's longevity on the site.

Yeah
I want to say that ns’s population system has always bugged me
It’s wholly inaccurate and a bit unnecessary
Why not tie the unlockable stuff to sheer time spent since founding?

An urban and rural stat
That'd be useful for how your population is distributed

New stats are created by the issue editors. We're fully aware of the desire to expand some of the industries and other areas of the game, but it's a massive effort to rewrite the issues to update those changes. It's been on the To Do list for years, but it's just not a priority. If admin attention is needed, the issue editors have a process in place for making changes.

If you have one or two ideas that fit issues being developed in the Got Issues forum, make your case for them in the development thread in question. We don't want or need a catch-all thread like this.

Thread locked.
