[Proposal] Add the white-blue-white flag to national flags

The white-blue-white flag is a symbol of opposition to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine that has been widely used by Russian anti-war protesters. By extension, it has also been used as a symbol of opposition to the Putin regime in Russia

Several people created the idea of the white-blue-white flag independently, almost simultaneously shortly after the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine started on 24 February 2022.

Like the title says, I'm proposing the white-blue-white flag of the Russian opposition be added to the list of national flags. Do it to show solidarity with Russian NS users who oppose Vladimir Putin.

That would be amusing. However, NS wants to remain "an open platform for political discussion" so I'd guess the staff would only be willing to add the flag in addition to Russia's national flag and not as a replacement.

Given there is nothing stopping nations from uploading that flag immediately as a custom flag, I don't really think we need to spend admin time adding a protest flag for a (hopefully brief) temporary conflict into the list of available defaults.

the white-blue-white flag isn't a national flag. it's a protest flag. like i said, the thin blue line flag isn't a flag in the list and neither is the flag of the rojava. why would a flag that's not even a national flag be added to a list of national flags?

Because while most of Russia is brainwashed into backing Putin and his batshit insanity, there is opposition. There a diaspora too; hundreds of thousands if not millions of Russians have fled their country; they're essentially in exile for believing in what's right. Others, users on this website, considers their country a shithole and wish they weren't a part of it. The kremlin and Russian society at-large considers all these souls traitors, not true Russians. Essentially, it's a group of people without a country. Stateless. Maybe the aboriginal flag would suffice.

But I believe in showing solidarity against the Putinists. Call it bias, but it is what it is. The russians in opposition have a flag for their defiance; it might as well be their national flag though.

Again, do it for the Russian user who play NS. A small, token show of support for them.
