Quote Chains
I have seen lots of posts quoting others in the forums, and even people quoting people quoting others.
My question is;
What is the maximum amount of quotes in a chain possible?
Seeing as this might be infinite, I have another question;
Has there been any examples of long quote chains?
If so, what is the longest one? I’d imagine it would be an argument, updating list, or a phrase chain.

The longest ones are probably in old threads before the forum software was modified to cut them off.

It's possible to just test this for yourself, since quotes don't have to be real:
1
2
I originally typed this 12 deep, so whatever you see is what's left.

If you really, really need to exceed the normal allowed quote count for some reason, you can move the quotes out. So instead of this:
someone else wrote:
someone wrote:I have an opinion.
I disagree with it.
You do this:
someone wrote:I have an opinion.
someone else wrote:I disagree with it.

There are occasionally some formatting errors by the poster which results in some quote pyramids, such as this: viewtopic.php?p=38519616#p38519616
