Reddit changed the way the image URLs are handled. You can get a working URL by double clicking the image after clicking on it for the first time.

So these URLs works as intented:

But the following two new URL formats formats are not recognized.

This is because clicking the images now doesn't actualy take you to the image directly. You need to double click on the image afterward, so it's not possible to do that on mobile when using the app. However you can click "share link" and paste that into a mobile browser, so you can get the correct URL.

When she was still a moderator, Aav said that site staff wasn't considering adding Google Photos to the whitelist on the grounds that images hosted there do not have file extensions, making it impossible for images hosted there to be hotlinked even if all hosts were allowed (as they were before Discord was banned in April 2020). Google Photos hasn't changed in the past six months and, I'd imagine, nor have modly thoughts on the matter.

Dumbia has said in this thread that they cannot hotlink images on the forum, even though their account's existed for more than 72 hours (and, when the OP of that thread was made, had in fact been around for 74 hours). Has the 72-hour policy changed?

It shouldn't have. If they're having difficulty, it's likely due to the fact that they're attempting to embed a SVG on the forums, which is a filetype that I believe is unsupported. (Don't quote me on that right now, I haven't checked to make sure, but it could very well be the issue.)

Seems that, although nationstates.net works, forum.nationstates.net does not (i.e. images/smilies/sm_facepalm.gif).
