The block that [v] created this thread for applies only to the forums, where a bug in a phpBB package causes an unwisely-formatted request to be made whenever an image is first linked. Huge can of worms. What happens when someone loads a file of type text/javascript? What happens when someone loads an svg, that presumably doesn't get put through the same rigorous sanitisation as svg flags, that includes <script> tags? Also, not really relevant to this thread, so if you believe there's a magic bullet to solve the XSS issues, you'll get better visibility with the techs if you make a new thread.
