Another suggestion for improvement that I hope wouldn’t cause a major overhaul and could actually happen:
Allow ROs with communication authority to pin/unpin comments on the RMB. A pinned comment stays visible on the region page and on forum view even after it falls off. When it is unpinned it remains back in its original position like a regular RMB post.
Pros:
# Promote cultural events on your RMB easily. For instance: Talk like a pirate day on RMB where all posters asked to post in pirate speech.
# Post rules for your RMB. Example: All posts must be made IC. No double posting. All posts must be in haiku form, etc.
# Answer a repetitive question on fast moving RMBs. If something is going on in a region a lot of people are going to ask about, let them get the answer up front. Maybe useful for N-Day events etc.
# A new way to put info in front of users that may only use the forum view of RMB and are missing stuff on main WA page.
Cons/arguments against:
#We already have a WFE. - The WFE (as the name implies) is typically taken up with generic info about the region (who is in charge, what is the region theme, etc). A pinned RMB post can be RMB specific like regional rules. And finally, the WFE is very far away from the RMB and we now have links on the sidebar and in our notifications that jump a straight to the RMB which bypasses the WFE.
#You could pin a dispatch. - Same comment, now it is much easier to jump to the RMB without passing that part of the region page.
