In some of my dispatches I have the accented character é and when I click any of the "Dossier • Local • World" options, the character switches to é.

We're aware that there are many inconsistencies about how Character Sets are enabled across various parts of the site. This is due to the fact that CharSet standards have evolved substantially since the site was originally coded in 2002.

We've looked into correcting this, and it would essentially involve a complete rebuild of the site to current Unicode standards. That's not a possibility at this time. You'll simply have to live with (or change) your special characters.

I do actually hope to fix character encoding in the not-too-distant future, but for now there are a few glitches like this.
