I feel that the fact of being only able to change which letters are capital while namechanging is too strict. You should be able to at least add other letters at the end of your name while technically keeping the original one intact.

Any form of name change beyond capitalisation changes will not be implemented since the game uses your nation name as its ID, so doing something like, for example, changing your nation name from Esthe to Esthenia would require the admins to go and change literally everything that links to your old nation name to your new one. And just imagine the undertaking that would be for even a mildly active user.

All the reasons @Aikoland said is correct, with the admin using it as an important tool and changing it can be problematic for the game.
Also, even if the admins somehow managed to keep up the hard work of name changing, it will create A LOT of confusion in the community and even moderation. For example, if a certain nation name has a history of being a WA multi, then he can simply change his name to have a better chance of escape. Also your forum name will have to be changed, causing a mass chaos for the mods which probably don’t want to deal with anymore ( remember they are not paid for their work ).
Also when you recently applied to join a region, you will have to change your applications and other important documents and videos to keep it accurate.
Even though personally I like my name to be changed, after all these reasons I recommend you just create a new puppet nation to have the name or simply ignore the name and build your nation to the best.
