How do you find old region WFE's and Flags?

Postby Hagston » Sat Feb 20, 2021 10:50 pm

I feel like this will have been asked before, but I can't find any threads on it.

I'd like to find my region's old WFE's and flags, and I know it should be possible. I've tried websites like the WFE Index, but the region isn't old enough for that to work.

I recall someone once mentioning like a data dump or something. Is that a thing, and if so, how can you use it to find the WFE and stuff?

You can find the archived daily data dumps here:
https://www.nationstates.net/page=archi ... er=regions
They are not in human readable format firstly, and I don't think they contain WFEs and they definitely do not contain flags. Nobody stores past flags of nations and regions as far as I know. The data is far too big and hard to process for any individual player, and not important enough to the gameplay experience for the site to care.
You might still have hope for your WFE, although I couldn't tell you where to look.

r3n has archived the daily dumps from October 2012 on, while NationStates only starts tracking from 2018 (as of time of writing.)

Many WFEs before summer-ish 2018 can be found on Taijitu's WFE index, although this is going to be useless for you; virtually all WFEs from May 2020 onwards (plus a few from 2018-early 2020) can be found on the Grey Wardens' WFE index.

Thanks! I'm pretty sure the grey wardens one works. We're from late 2018
