The region page of The Embassy has roughly 1370 embassies scheduled to close “imminently”, which has been imminent for the last couple of hours. However, when one looks at the regions the embassies are supposedly still open with, the embassy appears to have been closed.

Of note is that the embassies still enable nations from the affected regions to post on the Embassy’s RMB, thus suggesting the embassy has not been closed at all.

It's been a few hours now. Any update on this?

1370 embassies is a lot to process for NationStates. My guess is that it's taking a long time because there are just so many.

Once it processes, I'm sure they will go away.

Indeed. The servers often have trouble already without a mass closure from such an embassy hub.

Frenchy broke the game. Yes, Frenchy broke the game. There were so many embassies that the game couldn't take it and let the ones that didn't close close this update. Even so minor update took like 2 hours.

The techies have been pinged, still waiting to hear from them about it. Hopefully whatever broke self-fixes at major shortly.

A brief update -

I received 100+ notifications of embassy closures this evening at major. The region page indicates that the region has updated, and the regional activity page indicates that these embassies should have closed. However, the region page still says that these embassies are closing imminently, and more likely than not the natives of these regions can still post on the RMB.

Yep. SOme embassies are in the embassy last and are closing "imminently" but appear on the regional happenings that they have closed.

Is this getting fixed soon?

It's been three updates since the thread was made. Each time we've received a hundred notifications that embassies have closed. In addition to the other region pages showing correctly that the embassies were closed, we also cannot post on their RMBs. Has there been any update on this?

Yikes, that is one out-of-control region file. I have manually deborked it.

I had to prune out embassy happenings from the region history permalog, but everything else is still there.

Thank you! There remains one issue: there’s still 7 or so embassies left. When we attempted to close these during the initial purge of embassies we got an error that the regions did not exist. In the days since those regions have been refounded, but they do not show any embassy on their region page - I have attempted to close them, but two of them returned me an error that no such embassy existed.

I have removed those two bogus embassy entries.
