My region, Kantrias, is having issues with the Notifications. When we get a like or a quote, our region is getting quotes from dead and alive nations that aren't from our region. The quotes could be from today (CTE'd 90 minutes ago), to 6 years ago, or even from a random Z-Day.

Just wanted to say this glitch is still happening. If I click the red number I am taken to that old post, or if I click the little page icon on any quote. It is even more odd, because on further investigation, the RMB posts it takes me to are from different regions. I just quoted a post from a random person on our RMB.

Clicking the timestamp revials that this is actually this post (https://www.nationstates.net/page=rmb/postid=8388585) which is not even in my region.

Furthermore, the proper link to the post I actually quoted is (https://www.nationstates.net/page=rmb/postid=42725436). So the postid number is correct, but for some reason when the display_region_rmb/region=kantrias? stuff is in the URL it is taking us to a completely different post.

Here is an extra bit of evidence in case anyone thinks this is being faked, here is a post from a dead nation this is happening with. Follow the link, then click the page icon in the quote.

In general, do that with any quoted post on our RMB from any time. It either navigates to a random post in a different region, or no post at all.

Final thing to add, I can confirm some links from notifications are broken. I have one notification that is linking to a post from 6 years ago in a different region (despite the fact it is supposed to be for a post of mine being liked): https://www.nationstates.net/region=kan ... #p42726356

it seems like there is a certain chance that the time the notification was sent has impact at the message that pops up at the screen, I’ve clicked a message send 30 minutes ago 10 times now, and this post keeps appearing at my screen:

(I will refer to this link as “the first message” until the end)

But if I click at a notification of the same nation, but 2 hours ago, there is a chance that the “no message was lodged” screen appears, but also the chance of the first message appears again, there is more chance of the first message appears in less than 2 hours and 30 minutes of the time of the notification, but also, there is more chances of the “no message lodged” screen appears after 2 hours and 30 minutes.

In 3, 4 and 5 hours after the notification been sent, the “no message lodged” screen stop appearing, and the random messages starts to appear, being all of these from 6 years ago and 103 days, some exceptions being from 6 years ago and 102 days.

I clicked the notifications a lot of times to say the main regions that the messages appears:

If that’s not enough, it looks like each notification has it own message, because if you click at a certain message, even if it was sent 5 hours ago, it is going to show a message and if you click at it again, it is going to be the same message again and again, but if you click at another one, a different message will appear, and if you click in the same notification again, the message will repeat as well, I’ve only done the test in a period of 30 minutes - 5 hours since the notification was sent because all the notifications in a period of 6 hours or more were deleted in order to give space to the new notifications. It would be cool to know if it happens equally for everyone or everyone has a different messages and results.

Interesting, another region this is happening to! I tried finding examples of other broken RMBs, but I couldn't.

There are probably more, but we doesn’t know where they are, I would like to know their reports

Wait... then this may be NS wyde, peerhaps technical issues? Perhaps a bug or something?

This seems, at least on the end-user side, to be a global issue with the Notices page and the activity log. All links of the form "nationstates.net/region=REGION/page=display_region_rmb?postid=POST_ID" are broken. Those of the form "nationstates.net/page=rmb/postid=POST_ID" still seem to work.

Facing the same issue rn

Nations in the Western Isles have been reporting wierd RMB bugs as well, including me. They vary from no notification when mentioned to straight up not taking you to the RMB.

Same as well, I have been having this issue from today morning. It gets redirected towards a RMB post by a Ex Nation or another nation in a completely different regions

The Western Isles have been reporting strange occurrences where users are thrown into a random regions RMB and empty RMB with literally nothing. I have heard many regions reporting this as well concluding that NS is down or some lag with the RMB for regions

How did you just like my RMB post? We aren't in the same region.

There is already a thread for this called RMB link not working or something along those lines. You're not the only one.

I was having the same issue, but then I just ended up finding the post manually.

This glitch also seems to be occuring in Europe as well.

It's happening in Greater Cyngland.

it is most certainly an NS wide issue, because it is also happening in Callista as well.

I'm experiencing this issue as well. When I tried to go to my RMB, I was sent to this post instead.

For me, it went to this post.

It’ll probably be fixed before tomorrow, I think this has already happened in the past.
