I'm not sure if this is intended or not, but dark theme doesn't just darken the UI, it also does the same to any images that show up, whether they're nation flags, banners, factbook images, or whatever else. It's slightly annoying with banners, since dark images tend to look almost completely faded out, but that's mostly manageable - what's really a problem, and the reason why I'm making this thread, is the effect it has on dispatches. Right now I'm trying to experiment with image-based formatting in a new dispatch, and compatibility between the two themes is completely off.
Here's what the dispatch looks like on dark mode.
And here's what the dispatch looks like on light mode.
The "bumpy" gradient at the top is an image I made, while the background colour and text underneath it was made using BBCode. As you can tell, in dark mode, the image transitions smoothly into the BBCode background colour, while on light mode, the image is brighter than the background colour and looks disjointed. This basically means that trying to blend images with background colours across both themes is impossible unless they're either black or white. Essentially, what I'm asking for is that the colour discrepancy be removed so that images, or at least embedded images within dispatches, look the same in both light and dark modes. If this can't be done for whatever reason, I'd be fine adding a disclaimer telling people to switch to dark mode before looking at my factbooks or just making two separate versions for each theme, but I'd rather not resort to band-aids like that when the entire issue could be addressed systematically.
On a similar note, here's another thread I made aimed that was also aimed at greater formatting compatibility between the two themes - just bringing it up again to make sure it doesn't get lost, as I'd still very much like for this to be a feature.
