I doubt Potato Command would like to organize under the same banner under a month after the previous N-Day though. The generals must be tired.

Changing the event for a few peoples feelings doesn't seem sensible to me.

I do think that zombies are a little in bad taste however. Replacing them with aliens or ghosts or something would be cool, but I appreciate that would be very hard to do with the coding in such limited time.

As someone who has often proposed 'simple' things that the techies can do, apparently nothing is simple on this site because it's still running on a codebase from around the time of the enigma machine.

I do not want another N-Day over Z-Day. I support the idea of people being able to opt out in their settings at the beginning of the event if the event impacts them because of real life circumstances involving Covid.

All of this, it'd probably take some fun out of the game but an opt-out would be an excellent feature, much like Cards and N-Day. If there's an N-Day feature I like it is the opt-in feature, and this time can be an opt-out.

I have a bit of a Idea. Let's say Zday was caused by lingering radiation from NDay.

Me too, and an N-day two months in a row would seem kind of stupid to me. The first couple of times I tried doing N-day, I couldn't figure out how it was supposed to work so now I just ignore it; Z-day is exciting for the extra trophies I get on my nation page.

8 hour work day says no. Z-Day is preferable because I can actually participate. In N-Day, I'm more likely to do the big ded and can't use my tools anyway.

How does this fix anything?

COVID does not make people act like zombies. That would be rabies, not COVID.

Anything else you replace zombies with would either still act like a contagious disease (vampires, werewolves, etc. also traditionally spread by biting), in which case it resembles COVID as much as zombies do, or it would not act like a contagious disease, in which case it would not work under Z-Day mechanics and would require coding an entirely new minigame.

Yeah, if you are working that day it's a problem. Luckily it fell on a Saturday and I don't work Saturdays.

I believe the best solution to this would be an opt-out system, which would mean it doesn't change the event radically, but for those who want to distance themselves from Covid-like things on a website they use to escape from the real world it would be a good idea.

Max said back in March that the April Fools event would be non-virus related, and here in Europe we're in a pretty similar situation to back then, so what has changed? Yes it's an NS tradition, so that's why I believe an opt-out is better than a complete removal of the event.

I was really looking forward to Z-day this year as a low key, fun game. Because everyone is affected, it is a good community event for a region like TNP. N Day requires a lot of involvement and time commitment, whereas Z-day can be as little as picking an option on the issue to constantly sending out cure missiles/zombies/tactical squads.

I can not speak to how someone else might feel in regards to the incorporation of the idea of a virus into this game. But viruses of all kinds are a fact of life in the world, and knowledge of their infectious nature is important from a scientific viewpoint. And the idea of zombies has long existed with a mechanism of transfer similar to what Z-day imitates.

If there has to be a change, I think the simplest would be something like an opt-out, where the issue everyone gets has a fourth option that removes them from the day's game.

Terrible idea. My region and I always look forward to Z-Day as a regional event. N-Day is fun and all but it's less about regional fun and strategy and more about puppet armies and major alliances. Taking away Z Day would be hella cringe.

Taking away a minigame of 9 years because "muh covid" is delusional.

I dont think switching the types of zombies they are would help: we all know it's a virus, even if its unsaid.

I absolutely love NDay, and would happily participate in another- however I think it's very important to look at all the folk begging for that not to happen.

So on that, I'd support one of the older events maybe making a comeback. I think it could be a lot more fun, and a lot less hurtful (and harmful as NDay may be to folk who to folk who wont go to sleep: Looking at the top 4's Command teams).

I'd love another n-day. I really enjoy the event. The AA deserves to raise our success rate. I recognise however that a lot of people love z-day, and we shouldn't be cancelling this because of covid. I actually proposed making the virus something similar to covid, to add more topicality.

1. The nuclear page. Click on production and it'll tell you how many you can build at any given moment, and let you build them.

Covid is a jerk of a virus.. it took the annual Renaissance Fair away.. the local Dogwood Festival.. the Carnival.. 4'th of July events and now Z-day a thing I could enjoy in isolation. Also pretty sure Halloween and trick or treating will be cancelled as well.

Covid 19 made 2020 the year of anti-fun police state.

I can see how some will find the annual Z-Day event offensive but damn.. I'd rather make light of a bad situation than constantly live in a world of only fear and sorrow.

2020 is getting pretty close to beating 2016 in terms of being the crappiest year ever.
