N-Day - Boosting a Faction

Postby The Salaxalans » Wed Aug 05, 2020 3:45 pm

In past N-Days your only option for a regional faction was making a faction for your own region. However, with the increased presence of multi-regional factions in the more recent events, it would be great if it was possible to choose an existing faction to support in your region, perhaps something similar to boosting a candidate in the SecGen election, something to get it at the top of your region page.

Yeah, I don't think the multi-regional faction meta is going to be changing unless N-Day 5 is a huge shakeup in how it's being done. This seems like a really sensible move that would help develop the alliance meta further.

Would be nice but you need to get approval from violet.

I fully support this as it would make making interregional factions WAAAAAY easier as the little guys in big regions who may not be as involved still can help.

Yes, calling multiregion factions a trend is a bit belated, it was a trend in the first three N-days. Now it's the standard for success.
Additionally having the faction list the regions that have joined it would be nice to, something like the embassy list on the region pages.

This post has already got me hyped for N-Day, so much so that I pulled out this old puppet of mine.

Um yeah that's why it's being suggested in the Technical subforum.

I want to add that perhaps we should allow the region which created the faction to add new member regions to be also displayed as part of that faction.

This is a good idea. Nuclear war is too dangerous for every region to be expected to have their own.

This is also a good idea.

I'd like to see this just to streamline the logistics of regions working together.

This is a good idea logistically, and for making sure everyone in a multi-regional alliance is given credit.

I do think this would be a generally positive feature for visibility.

While on the topic of factions, can we make factions that aren't region locked but are password protected so that alliances of friend from different regions can be made without risk of random people joining

Okay! Boosting for Factions will be a thing. This can be set by any Regional Officer with Appearance authority.

Regions that have their own Faction can still boost for another Faction as well.

You say Oatland, I say Nopeland :lol2: though if your region list did get implemented Forest would still be above Oatland in alphabetical order

I've never seen the GenSec region boosting mechanic, what did it look like? Is it like a WA badge, except the badge is the nation (or faction for nday) they support?

so what exactly will boosting a faction do, can you fight for that faction while having a smaller region locked faction too?

I’d imagine it would simply be a visual/promotional thing, that regions can display to show they are part of an umbrella faction (to replace the current system where the faction only lists a single region). It would help the alliance system and diplomacy
