Influence Bug?

Postby Densaner » Fri May 22, 2020 3:07 pm

I have a query about the region of South Pacific. The nation of Rivierenland arrived here about two weeks or so ago, and is now the most influential nation here. Rivierenland was previously in the region of Europe, which is gigantic and produces very large influence numbers for longer term nations there. However, it was my understanding that new nations (Rivierenland never having been in South Pacific before) build up regional influence over time.

The influence statistic is kind of misleading. It is the sum of all influence the nation has across all regions. As the nation had an immense amount of influence in their previous region, they're topping the charts in their new region.

However, as influence is not transferable from region to region, they won't have the power to password the new region, or to eject many nations.

Influence decays when you leave a region. If you zoom in on their influence chart, you'll see it has started to go down, despite gaining new influence in the new region.

August has a good dispatch about this, and probably explains it better:

Thank you, that makes things clearer.
