Forum/Gameside Lagging

I suspect it's due to an influx of new nations, but gameside and forumside seem to be getting crushed.

Because of that Drew Durnill bloke. After he uploaded that NationStates video, large amounts of new players are flocking onto the website, faster than the website can manage.

I don't suppose admins or mods have any idea when update will be functioning properly again for minor, if at all (or an estimate of when it could end)?

I think it's about half way over right now, and that's two hours in. So another 2 hours?

I can't log into my primary nation, Australian rePublic onto the forum, without it logging me out or telling me that I've entered the wrong password (despite typing password to enter gameside), and when I try to enter gameside, it's painfully slow. If I click forum, I'm logged out. I thought I'd share my story, because nobody was talking about being logged out, and because the problem is still going. I originally sent a GHR request, because I wasn't sure whether or not I'd be able to access the forum at all. Please help

It's been happening intermittently for me as well, I'm guessing the forum/game connection is doing even worse that it usually is.

Yea, but of the three accounts I've tried, through the same device and IP address, why is only one effected?

~~Just logged into a VPN and things are working for me now.~~Before that I had the same issues that Ananas the Pineapple had.
(Going to test a bit to make sure it's the VPN that did it.)
Edit: It's not the VPN. Access seems random right now — I got locked out for a little, but have access again right now. Anyone know when this should get fixed?
Another edit: Access with the VPN is inconsistent. Access without it is non-existent. So maybe it helps, or maybe it's nothing.

Australian rePublic here again. Now Ananas is having these problems **frustration noises** it seems to me that more that I use an account, the more issues it creates

It seems to be working fine now, let's hope it remains that way. Drew Durnil broke NS? I didn't think a YouTube video would break such a large website, but here we are. Oh well, having been a member of NS for the best part of decade, and having risen to some level of prominence, at least I'll be somewhat part of history, albeit in a very, very weird way.

It would seem to be fairly random in terms of the connections being dropped - I've been locked out of the forum since my last post here largely. It'll go back to normal eventually

Yes. There was a 4.5 hour minor in late 2018, and the days of yore allegedly had 12 hour updates (note, this was also when there was only 1 update).
