There was about 1 year and 8 months between season 1 (April 1, 2018) and season 2 (November 28, 2019).
If we assume the same amount of time will pass until season 3 releases, I would guess late July or early August 2021.

Yeah but you have to consider that the 8 months there were between the original snapshot and the update for cards to become a permanent feature.
If you take the second one, the point where cards became an entrenched feature and not just an april fools gimmick, it looks like a new season will be released around december each year.

This is entirely correct. The card feature is a rather new addition to the game (a paltry 1.5 years!) and still has to evolve into whatever it will eventually become, we don't know what that will be. What the length of a season should be is not determined yet either, nor what seasons will look like in the future.

The owner and admin can decide to release season three at any point they like, despite your prediction - a year and a half from now, two years, six months, or 29 and a half hours.

I would be surprised if Season 3 happens before December 2020, but there isn't a definite plan.
