[SUGGESTION] Transparent flags for both nations and regions

WHY?

Because it would boost creativity in how many sizes the flag could be. Plus many flags would be fixed if we could make images transparent like Nepal or Venice. And the site admin [violet] has transparent gif as her profile

HOW?

A simple route of this issue is that nation flags still use the jpeg format or at least when they are at use. Perhaps in a future update to NS, this could be replaced with png when a flag is in use.

Actually yes but the border still exposes the flag shape of the image. Maybe there could be an option to trim flags so the border wouldn’t appear.

That would be nice. I have several nations (active or currently dormant) whose flags are supposed to be swallow-tailed, and even one where it's supposed to be multi-tailed.

This seems like a good idea. For region flags, i think it needs to be bigger, at most the size of national flags, so some regions with intricate flags can show their flags bigger.
