Is this something to worry about?

Last week there were no issues, but today suddenly Bitdefender has decided that NationStates is naughty:

I don't know what bitdefender is, but looking at the error, it looks like the certificate is on your end, not ours. We don't encrypt the connection (unless https:// counts as encryption).

AFAIK https does count, and is probably what bitdefender was complaining about. The site certificate looks like it was renewed at the end of August, so the only explanation I can think of is that bit defended was viewing a cached copy of the old one.

I'm far from expert in this area, so please take the preceding with seveal pinches of salt.

Yes, https:// means the connection is encrypted and using SSL/TLS.

From a Google search, that is like a a cyber security / anti-virus company, but Chrome will pop up a very similar message but nothing strange on my end from Chrome and the certificate is showing it's valid.

It's mostly likely taking issue with the advertisements on NS, rather then NS itself. Avast sometimes pulls this as well.

Alright, thanks folks. I shan't worry too much about it. It doesn't seem to care today, so maybe it was just a blip.

It's an internet security suite, supposedly one of the better ones available at the moment. It's also not very resource intensive compared to certain others, which is ideal for poor people with archaic computers like myself...

I'd still advise Max Barry and everyone else to ban defending. And Discord. It won't end well.
