%NATION% macro in dispatches?

Postby Madame Victoria » Mon Jul 01, 2019 12:40 pm

I remember Violet added a few macros that could be used in dispatches a while back such as [data;population] that inserts the authors current population. I think it would be awfully neat to have a macro that functions like the %NATION% macro used in telegrams, replacing the macro for the reader's nation name. This would make it so that anyone viewing a dispatch with the macro would see their nation name being referenced, and would add that little touch of detail I think would be pretty cool.

So it could look something like:

Citizenship Form

please copy, paste, and telegram Madame Victoria the following form.

Name: %NATION%

Oath: I, %NATION%, hereby agree to abide Madame Victoria's supreme everlasting rule, and shall not steal from her pantry.

Which in turn would look like:

Citizenship Form

please copy, paste, and telegram Madame Victoria the following form.

Name: Dough Nation

Oath: I, Dough Nation, hereby agree to abide Madame Victoria's supreme everlasting rule, and shall not steal from her pantry.

Can’t you just use the
Code: Select all
[nation]Athretvari[/nation]
code to show the desired country’s name?

Use
Code: Select all
[nation=noflag]Athretvari[/nation]
to show the name without the flag.

And (I think)
Code: Select all
[nation=long]Athretvari[/nation]
to show the nation’s “long-name” (“The High-Technate of Athretvari”).

Yeah… I know. It’s a tough one. You can skip

That isn't what the OP is asking for.

They're asking for a macro that will display the nation name of whichever country is looking at the factbook, not mentioning a specific nation.

So for you it would show it as Athretvari but for me, it would show it as Aikoland.
