I can’t be the only one with this issue. I’ve called my ISP about it and they told me it’s not them it’s the site.
I’ve been getting phishing / shady ad redirect hijacks recently. There was a spout of them last year then it went away and there’s another going on right now.
P.S This is the only site it happens on. No other site I currently use has this issue.
More than likely one of your advertisers has malware containing an illegal hijacking code contained within their ads. Google ads while relatively safe are not completely screened against hijacking scripts. A unethical advertiser can hide the code within the ad make it so it isn’t active when Google tests the ad for functionality and circumvent the code signature scan and then deploy the hijacking script once the ad is approved.
Please contact your advertising vendor or have a thorough web security analysis done by a third party firm or by using appropriate software tools.
