Hi,

For a bit now, 2ish weeks about/at least, there has been some serious lag on site page loads during update/massive spike in page load times.

This is not just any single TBH member noticing this - entire raiding groups, in vastly different regions of the world, are noticing that the site will randomly drop page loads at the same time during update.

In scope, we're talking a page taking no time at all to refresh one moment, and then a few seconds later, you refresh and it can take 10, 20, 30 seconds of spinning to load at all. Or, alternatively, clicking links will load normally one moment, and the next, they'll spin for the same long stretch of time before loading any content.

We've been experiencing this on both regular site pages, and barebones (/template-overall=none) pages, so it does not appear to be, say, any issues with just users having slow internet - even the template-none pages which normally load instantly will have load time spikes the exact same as normal site pages.

This has made raiding almost impossible on nights it's going on, as we'll suddenly become unable to watch for triggers going off or move into a region in anything resembling a fast manner, and as such it is seriously impacting our ability to play the R/D game at update, at all.

If there's any more information we can supply, perhaps if you'd like specific regions/times to look at, I can try to get that for you.

Yep saw this lag in a raid the other day! Not just at update though.. sometimes just poking around on NS the page will load partly and stall. Thought it was my connection but other sites I hang out on have no lag.. Only noticed it in the last week or so though..

Is the server old and gunna divide by zero like my hot water heater did and result in the apocalypse of cold showers?

I feel it while a card farming as well minor not as much is it just there a crazy amount of data to go though?

I've experienced the same lag issues when raiding. Sometimes when I try to click on the link to a nation, the website takes a long time to load and by the time it finishes, that hit is already over.

The same thing happened when I was pointing at one point. A simple process became 10 times more complex because lag wouldn't allow me to load basic functions involved in raiding.

Can confirm this happened during a recent TRI training run. Not certain whether this falls quite into the last two weeks, it may have been last ~3.

Can also confirm that update, and NS as a whole, are seemingly really laggy tonight.

For tonight at Major, the lag started about ten minutes before update, and during update the lag went up and down. At certain points, one region would load for us and another region posted at the same time wouldn't load (the raid was multi team). At other parts of update, we were able to load our nations to endorse each other, but wasn't able to load region pages. We were able to get https://www.nationstates.net/template-o ... lack_hawks pages loaded for a bit, then even those stopped working. There was some times during update where a 50 second switch time was about 50 seconds, and then times where it was about 5 minutes.

Tonight was by far the worst update has been, but it's been super laggy for a while now. It's 2 hours after update began right now, and TBH's jumppoint Devide By Zero still hasn't updated which is daaanggg.

I can confirm that update has been very laggy. Some region pages just wouldn't load. A region that was supposed to update at 10 minutes in updated 24 minutes in. Several regions just didnt load at all.

We've pinged the admins to see what all is going on.

I have a very fast wifi router at my home. I am from Alberta Canada. I do not know why nationstates is loading slow because other websites like youtube load very fast. I timed the loading time and nationstates took 17.8 seconds to load. Youtube meanwhile only took 3.4 seconds to load. Nationstates for some reason keeps loading slow and I'm not even sure as to why it is.

I'm in Maryland, USA, and the lag is awful.
Is it that NationStates Turtle you're using for routing protocol instead of OSPF or RIP, or something?

Same here in Vermont USA. Lag has gotten really bad since about 10pm.

Yep, pages right now are taking quite some time to load and sometimes the left side bar doesn't even show.

Many people in TSP who are on the rmb rn seems to be experiencing similar issues with horrible lag and page load time, it seems unlikely that the problem would be with our personal internet connections since so many people are experiencing it at once.
Note: there are some on our rmb who say they aren't experiencing it so idk

Sorry about that! We had a user get carried away with the Challenge minigame and spam hundreds of thousands of page requests. Things should start getting back to normal now.

Thanks, but I and others are still having frequent issues. Today for me it's been a mix of gameside taking 15-30 seconds to load most pages for several-minute period of time (before working normally again), and the forums not recognizing that I have an active gameside session (despite being logged in on the sidebar as the forums tell me I'm not logged in).

It’s back and it’s taking me forever to answer issues.

I made a factbook on the issue. I myself am not associated with the admin. Also I created this factbook so more people can be informed about the issue

It was back briefly for a minutes and now gone again.

That's the problem I had, and when I tried to login to forumside, it told me that my password was incorrect. I literally couldn't log into the forums for almost an hour.

Should be working again.
