"Request failed a security check"

Postby Puyo Nexus » Sat Apr 27, 2019 4:31 pm

I tried selling a card with asking price of 0.89 bank, but it said "The request failed a security check. Please try again."

What does that mean?

That typically happens if you get logged out and logged back in. Because it's a new session, forms that you loaded under your old session might not work anymore, until you reload the page. If you have autologin enabled, you could easily not notice it happened.

Typical causes of getting logged out are idling for a long time, or logging in on another device (since you can only be logged in on one device at a time). Some browsers autorefresh pages every now and then, which can cause a device to keep logging in to NationStates even when you're not using it.

Actually, this happens every time you attempt to place bids or asks in more than one card tab at a time. At least it happens in Firefox - Chrome seems more forgiving. Also, editing an existing bid doesn't seem to trigger a security check.

You've probably enabled private browsing or something?

Same thing happens in Chrome. And Safari, too. I just hit reload or the info button before placing a bid/ask.
