[Question] April Fools Event 2019 Is Trivia!

PostPosted: Wed Mar 27, 2019 4:30 pm
by Caspian Settlement
I remember that prior April Fools' events have occurred earlier then April Fools', although I'm unsure whether one will be occurring this year, especially with all of the hard work put into Cards.

Any thoughts/updates/predictions on this?

EDIT:

Per Wrapper's post (given that it's Voice of Mod), any new thoughts/updates/predictions?

I've lost my trust of Wrapper. However, trivia is quite fun!

Don't they usually start around midnight on 1 April, Australia time (so middle of the day on 31 March in the United States)?

Season 2 of Card Trading, meaning more new cards for some newer nations in the past year?

True, although the event's beginning differs from time to time - I remember World Assembly Secretary-General elections started relatively early for an April Fools' event.

Possible, especially if it came with more features.

I'd prefer something else, if I'm being honest. We're all expecting Cards 2, and I'm all carded out.

I don't see why it would be that, or at least, exclusively that. Each year they try to make it something pretty unique, and stuff that sticks like z-day get moved away from april fools

Hmmm...perhaps everyone is expelled from their regions for a day, and are forced to find refuge elsewhere?

Honestly, that would be a good joke. However, Max Barry's not interested in jokes. Only Total Immersion Events, as I like the call them.

As for me, I'd like to think it will be a war feature.

The real prank will be that he doesn't do anything at all this year.

Also: Bring back NationDates

The site goes down the entire day by Max announcing that the site is being shut down for legal difficulties.

We're giving April Fools a pass this year. We're going to do an event on International Respect For Chickens Day (May 4) instead.

Is this official Word of Mod?

If so, :(

Hmmmmmm.... okay, for real though, let's see, for the last 4 years (if memory serves me) there's been bytecoins, cards against nationstates, nukes, and trading cards. So it's almost certainly going to be a "minigame". None of those were based on current events (or at least within a single nation - such as Brexit), and all of them were social events to some extent. If I had to guess, (and this is just wild speculation), I'm gonna say Space Race. :P

You skipped gen-sec elections, back in 2016 I believe. So possibly based on current events
Space race would be fun tho

How could you put International Respect For Chickens Day over Star Wars Day?

I think this year is inspired by a smartphone game that became very popular since 2017, and was developed by the same people behind a video hosting service.

How did you figure out that we're making a Bubble Shooter game? That's supposed to be a big sekrit!

NationStates always seems to capitalise on a craze, including IPOs, zombies, and cryptocurrency. Even last year’s theme took a poke at the loot box controversy.
