Are threads ever deleted?

I know they get locked but are they ever actually deleted?

It's possible for a mod to 'hard-delete' a thread, from my understanding, but this usually isn't done. Often, they are moved to a mods-only forum so that it can be referenced for rule violations, warnings and the like. From the point of view of a non-mod it's effectively the same as a deletion.

As to the quote in your signature I think some of the things Reploid Productions say are hilarious. But thanks for the answers

In Forum 7, threads which have not any new posts in 7 days are automatically deleted (pruned, a more specific word).

Some, yes. But they are threads that have links to NSFW sites. More specifically, NSFW sites in the OP.

When there's a bug that affects lots of people and they all come here to ask about it, I generally delete all but the first (or most active) thread, since I don't want them cluttering up the forum, even locked, and there's no sense in saving them. Threads that are removed for rulebreaking are generally just moved to a mods-only forum, unless we already have ample evidence against a person, in which case they may be deleted.

Why does it matter? Even if you know the address you can't see them unless you're a mod.

The human condition, I'm curios as to what I can't see or go, kind of like Pandora's Box

Trust me, I've looked in the deleted thread archive, you really don't want to see the contents.

Very well then, I'll trust your judgement, nonetheless...

So, if I ever become a mod I don't want to look in forum 17 or 22. AKA Pandora's Box, thanks!

I always have a morbid curiosity so I would probably be entertained. :P

It's more like a reverse of Pandora's Box, Hope got out and all the bad stuff is still inside.
