[SUGGESTION] New Telegram Filter For Card Trading

Postby Tim-Opolis » Wed Jan 16, 2019 8:33 am

Okay, so this might be coming about as a result of frustration more than a really necessary change, but I imagine other individuals are also dealing with the frustration as well.

I really don't care for people telegramming me asking to buy a card from me. Typically I either ignore them or send back a ridiculously high non-negotiable offer so they'll buzz off, but it would be really nice to get a significantly lowered volume of them, as I can only imagine it's worse for people actively card-farming the more lucrative cards on the market.

What if we added a new telegram filter, similar to recruitment and campaign, specifically intended to be marked for card trading. That way, you can choose whether to allow those messages through or not. It'd be nice to cut down on that type of clutter, especially since I imagine it's especially painful to people who don't have Postmaster and are subsequently losing TGs because of pestering from people wanting to buy cards.

I was going to say do it, but then, I forgot about the current filter implementation system, which would make a lot of card telegrams have to be marked manually be people who don't know better and increase moderator workload. Things to weigh, right now, I'm unsure.

Definitely think it would be a very useful addition for a lot of people. Sure, it might initially generate more workload for the mods, but I think much like when the filters were first implemented that it will taper off to reasonable levels in a relatively short timeframe. I mean, sure, we still get complaints about unmarked recruiting messages regularly, but they amount to a tiny fraction of the mod workload; I don't think card trading related messages will generate an unworkable amount of trouble either.

I would appreciate this. But I've also noticed people have taken to advertising in RMBs

EDIT: Actually looking back all the card related spam I've gotten is from one player, it's easy enough to just block them.
