Tabs for RMB?

Hi Techs,

I know we have RMBs and generally it's supposed to be one size fits all, but we have a few conversations things on the run that we're often told to take to our RMB but that clutters up useful announcements and so on. I'm wondering whether it would be possible to have "Tabs" to split up posts (or rather just make them display somewhere else if switch is triggered)? It'd make it easier for nations to find regional announcements and indepth discussions (okay arguments) without having sift through a load of waffle.

Notably this should be a regional officer duty I think (communications?) and likewise the Founder/Executive WA should have access.

This shouldn't take up any new storage space, bandwidth or the such like. Processing overhead increase should be minimal as well.

RMB revisions are fairly high on admin's priority list. I'm not sure what form they'll take, but from what I've heard you'll like the changes. And no, once again I can give absolutely no hint as to timelines. The project to make changes ran into some problems which remain unresolved.

The region that my nation is apart of the north pacific has the most nation out of any region in nation states. Now this is both a good thing and a bad thing. One problem that plagues the region is that the RMB is often overwhelmed and people can no longer communicate with each other because there is already one big RP or discussion going on. For instance in the time of me writing this 20-30 msg would have been posted. So my suggestion is to add to the RMB's the option to add sub RMB's so the people that are there to rp have there spot to do so as well as the people that just want to talk.

My suggestion would be for people who want to chat to move to a new region,maybe with a puppet nation. You can do that instantly without any code changes.

Or ask the government to create a new region with an embassy where you all can chat, while staying in TNP.

Of course that solution potentially loses ad-revenue for Nationstates

I do like Kuriko's suggestion as a great work around. Using a region or chat or role-play/notifications as required would be a good idea, but you actually have to put more work into maintenance then. The tabs/sub rmbs are beneficial as a whole.

Yes, there's no doubt about that. However, it won't happen quickly. [violet] has several months of coding work sitting on a shelf because of problems implementing it. Until she has time to rethink her approach, it won't be happening.

The other solutions have the positive benefit of being able to be implemented immediately. Do you really want to wait 6 months to 5 years for a solution?
