Can we please give the Secretariat different colors?

I was thinking about a blue similar to what I currently use for my flag, for better contrast:

When IEs were hunting for a new colour, we were advised against anything on the blue spectrum. Because, while it seems fairly obvious side by side that UN Blue -- or any lighter blue -- is different to Senior Moderator blue, if a newer player saw this in passing on the forums:

It might be confusing, unless a senior moderator posted right underneath, and made the contrast obvious.

I do think hot pink would stand out more, against the other colours.

I think it's fair to point out at the bottom of the index page that there is a legend with all the of group names and colors associated with them.

We have trouble getting people to read the FAQ that is on the same page as their question.

Point taken. I do think there is a now difference between the blue that Minoa suggested and the Senior Moderator blue, which is really dark. Also, under the names there is their title.

For future-proofing purposes: for the comparison between Senior Moderators and my proposed GA Secretariat colour:

GA Secretariat (#00A8E0 or 0,168,224)¹

I doubt that there will be any confusion between the Senior Moderators and the GA Secretariat, if Londoners do not confuse the Piccadilly line with the Victoria line on the tube map.<sup>2

IEs were given the ability to cloak their online status because Sanc and I were getting TGs assuming we were mods when we got the Golden/baby poop colored names. Players saw a bold different color name name stand out (this was before any other groups had different colors) and assumed, those names stand out like mod names, must be mods. It's not unreasonable to assume a new player would be confused by another blue user group.

That's probably why the other special groups are all shades of Green/Yellow. It's not that far off of the normal user color. No user group falls into the red/blue/purple spectrum for a reason. Wanting UN blue doesn't strike me as a compelling reason to muddy that line.

No, only Seniors do, but I meant that hot pink or nothing is probably something that Fris would say. And has said, I think he said it's the better option.

Another possible idea could be to adopt a less grubby shade of Lime Green (#66CC00) to address the original concerns, to create something like:

Optionally, one may consider strengthening the contrast of the mentor group colours, from #33CC66 to maybe #00CC99 (N&I), and from #1CAC78 to maybe #009973 (P2TM), thus:

Legend: Administrators, Global moderators, Issues Editors, GA Secretariat, N&I RP Mentors, P2TM RP Mentors, Senior Moderators

As you can see, sticking to the green-yellow spectrum for non-moderation user groups is a bit of a challenge.

If you want to be technical, pink is a tint of red, since it is formed by adding white to red. Shades are formed by adding black.

Seriously, though, I agree that a sufficently light shade of blue would be sufficiently distinct from the Senior Mod color. But if that's off the table, then light green would surely work. Just have to make it non-eye-searing on both light and dark themes.

It was pointed out that the first change was a bit to close to Forum Mod red, so I picked the same shade we use for the Staff Discord channel. It's still Pinkalicious.
