But no news post yet doesn't mean much. Last year it was like 3 days before, but 2016 the first news post was on the day or just before.

I think just for the reactions alone, that one was probably my favorite one. I mean, the minigames and such are fun (especially the nukes!), but watching everybody going "LOL, yeah right, good one guys!" with the double-whammy after April Fools with folks realizing "Wait... that wasn't a joke?! IT'S REAL WTF?!" was just priceless!

A long, long time ago, Nationstates didn't have a World Assembly. We had a United Nations, complete with UN emblem and all. Apparently the real UN took offense to this, and a lawyer sent Max a very unhappy cease-and-desist. Fortunately, we had a couple of months in which to comply, so we decided to use it for April Fools that year. Thus, the NSUN was replaced with the WA on April 1st, to the expected skepticism because wow, you'd think the IRL UN would have better things to do with their time or something. Fast forward to April 2... (Also, Max's blog post about the entire thing is pretty amusing, too!)
