The Zentraler Sanitätsdienst or [i]SD[/i] (sometimes referred to as Der Sanitätsdienst) is the joint medical service of the Bundeswehr. The Sanitätsdienst is responsible for medical personnel of all of the branches of the Bundeswehr. While medical personnel are generally physicians and nurses, they still play a role in their branches' regular duties aside from medical attention. The Sanitätsdienst is commanded by the Sanitätsdienstinspektor at the Sanitätsdienst Gebäude in Zurich, Drucezchski. Training for nurses and physicians is provided by the Nationales medizinisches institut in Zurich.
