Stats get janky at the bottom

Postby Drasnia » Tue Apr 25, 2017 4:48 pm

I was looking at some of my lowest stats when I noticed something strange.

I was proud that I had such a low taxation rate (the 11th lowest in the world!) so I went to check on the person with the lowest score in my region:

Wait a minute! He has a lower score than I yet I'm actually lower than him in the world rank, which makes no sense at all. Not only that, but the total # of nations was quite different for the screenshots being taken less than a minute apart. Finally, I went and investigated just a bit more when I saw this:

Something really screwy is going on at the bottom. I went to make sure it wasn't NS++ or any of my browser extensions so I logged on in incognito mode and got this:

My rank hadn't changed (still179,863rd in the world) but the total number of nations had increased by another nine. Something really really strange is going on and I thought I'd raise it for Admin attention.

Regarding the nations in the world increasing, is it possible that in the timeframe that you took the screenshots in, that many new nations may have been founded?

It's my understanding that following this change, such a thing can happen.

As for the weird numbers, I have no explanation and I'd say someone more experienced with the issues coding may need to weigh in

I looked at the various feeders and it didn't seem like that many had been created within that span of 2-3 minutes but perhaps I should have counted them. It just seemed a bit odd in conjunction with the weird stats.

I would have recommended looking at the activity feed filtered to foundings to get an accurate idea of how many extra nations there were made in the timeframe. Nations could also have refounded in that same time, adding to the number. :)

It can take a few hours for the census rankings to update.
