How can one use a flag that has a decent pixel size, 'cus 12kB...please, seriously?

Or can't you get an external image host to host it for you? If not, why can't we?



I have this image (see current flag) that I had to scale down in order to make it fit the 12kB...

If you make your own you can get a much bigger size.

mostly it depends on how you save it. jpeg and gif flags are usually of lower quality then png, for instance, but you can get them much larger while keeping under 12kb. png is probably going to look better, but you get stuck with a smaller sized flag. It's up to you to pick which you want.

use png, the quality is worth it, otherwise it looks terrible, both on the nation page and on the forums. Jpeg or gif will make it bigger, but that only means more terrible to go around.

Exception is if you flag is very complex and needs the compression to fit at all.

It used to be 6kb. Make it more flag-like and you shouldn't have any difficulty. Or use compression.
